Why choose Causeway Bay

Causeway Bay is one of the most active parts of Hong Kong Island, but it is not all the same. Around Times Square, Hysan Place and SOGO, the streets stay busy late. Toward Victoria Park and Tin Hau, the rhythm becomes more residential.

The trade-off is deciding how much street energy you want at the front door. Some people want the full Causeway Bay version because shops, restaurants and transport are immediately below. Others prefer the Tin Hau or Victoria Park edge, where the same district feels less intense.

For PolyU students, the northern and western side can be useful. Exhibition Centre station is walkable from parts of north Causeway Bay and is one stop from Hung Hom on the East Rail Line. From Causeway Bay station, the route via Admiralty is also clear: two stops to Admiralty, then two stops to Hung Hom.

Causeway Bay also suits people who split time between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. The Island Line keeps Central and North Point direct, while nearby East Rail access from Exhibition Centre can save an interchange for some cross-harbour journeys.
