Snow at Lee Tung Avenue

Now that the city is finally feeling the cold temperatures, Lee Tung Avenue is taking the opportunity to share fun and hope with the community. From 7-10 January (Thursday to Sunday), snowflake machines will be running at full speed at the festive shopping street, so that the public can enjoy a white winter even in Hong Kong. This will overlap with the butterfly instalment currently on display. The glassy butterflies will reflect light and shadows at different angles, and mix in the snow display, it will surely be a magnificent sight.

Vik Muniz: Grand Tour

Vik Muniz: Grand Tour  is the artist’s fourth solo exhibtiion in Honh Kong. This time, Ben Brown Fine Arts will bring together a selection of the artist’s most iconic and evocative works, from his most celebrated series over the last two decades. It will take you on a fantasy ‘grand tour’ through time, art history, international cities and the artistic practices of one of the most ingenious and imaginative artists working today.

13th Asian Financial Forum

This year, the Asian Financial Forum will be going online. The event brings together more than 3500 influential global financial experts, policymakers, business leaders, economists and investors to examine the current global economic landscape and share insights on the environment businesses will face in the coming year. Topics will include the new post-pandemic economy, responsible investment, future of fintech and reimagined healthcare.

Outside in: An Unconventional World of Art Toys

K11 Art Mall will be featuring Jason Freeny’s artwork in a public exhibition as well as its own artspace. Freeny is known for his unique art style of dissecting famous cartoon icons. He reimagines the inner structures of these icons and sculptures it onto one side of the figurines. In chi K11 art space, you can find first edition figurines, graphic posters and life-size figurines that document Freeny’s journey as an artist.

Cat Art by Shu Yamamoto

Illustrator Mr. Shu Yamamoto created 61 masterpieces about cats using his unique style with his knowledge of art and love for cats. These pieces are now displayed together in six special decorative zones in Harbour North. The pieces tend to blend cats into different eras of painting and portrait, so you will definitely recognise some famous paintings that are reinterpretated. 3D renditions of the cat portraits are also available exclusively for Hong Kong.

Brushless

Brushless is a group exhibition featuring four internationally renowned artists whose practices revolutionize contemporary ink painting with the use of various tools and media. While brush and ink form the backbone of traditional Chinese ink painting and aesthetics, these four pioneering artists have chosen to push the boundaries of this classical practice by replacing the brush with the use of stamping, photography, incense sticks, and even the artist’s own index finger.

Invisible shop: It’s always you

It’s Always You is the latest immersive experience by the artist to explore individualism and the idea of self in contemporary life. Find the invisible shop inside K11 Design Store that is filled with see-through mirrors, reflections and neon slogans, creating an optical illusion of the space vanishing due to multiple reflections. The space encourages unselfconscious selfies inside the space, and at the same time, mocking such inflated sense of self and excessive self-admiration that echoes with the neon sign ‘It’s Always You’.

Shen Wei: Self

A solo exhibition by Shen Wei brings together his photography and video work. The exhibited pieces will be from several series from 2009 to the present day. Shen Wei’s diverse body of work explores notions of identity, memory and sexuality. He plays with the idea of a self-portrait being a true reflection of the self, and also blends in motif from the Chinese culture.

Breakthough 2020—Master of Art

This exhibition will showcase artworks from 7 highly respected artists in Hong Kong. The artworks showcased in this exhibition were created during Covid-19 or those created in the past but filled with new meaning. It hopes to paint on paper the act of observing the outside world and self-examination, as well as the intense scrutiny and feelings can rejuvenate the people with strength.
